The Cott Inn

The Cott Inn  will be open from 12th April, 7 days a week, serving food and drink from mid-day every day.

The Cott Inn is a stunning 14th-century thatched pub situated in the peaceful village of Dartington, less than 2 miles from Totnes and surrounded by beautiful countryside. This family owned inn serves award winning food and local ales and ciders, and offers overnight accommodation in luxury boutique bedrooms.

Come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with cosy log fires during the winter months and a large pretty garden with a new alfresco kitchen serving delicious food throughout the summer. Weekly events include the famous fish and chip night on Tuesday evenings serving fresh locally line-caught fish, fabulous Sunday roasts  and live music every Wednesday and Sunday night.  Dogs and children welcome.

Delphini’s Gelato

Delphini’s means fresh, homemade gelato and hot chocolates of the finest quality - also for vegans! Italian-trained owner Johan (Giovanni for regulars) makes everything daily on-site, using organic Devon milk and cream, seasonal fresh fruits, Belgian chocolate, Sicilian pistachios, Piedmont hazelnuts, Amarena cherries - and not much more. Wild Thyme Deli & Kitchen

The cafe at China Blue has undergone one serious makeover, now called Wild Thyme Deli & Kitchen and introducing a new menu, new look, new vibe and new name! Everything is homemade ranging from the sausage rolls to the cakes, jams to ketchups, soups, salads and more. Find a local deli brunch, lunch, bakes, coffee and more. Come by and try one of our new dishes and pick up your fresh sourdough whilst you’re here!  

Garden Cafe at Totnes Rare Breeds Farm

April 2021 update: Outside seating only in the Garden Cafe Due to government restrictions, we can currently only offer limited outside seating. Our menu is also much reduced during this time until we can open more fully. We respectfully ask that picnics are not eaten on site as the limited seating is reserved for café customers only. You must have a table before ordering food, unless it is to take away. Thank you. Just a 15 minute walk from Totnes town centre is the scenic Garden Cafe at Totnes Rare Breeds, perfect for those looking for a short riverside walk followed by a delicious refreshment. Located next to South Devon Railway, it can also be combined with a trip on an historic steam train to Buckfastleigh. Offering made-to-order dishes at reasonable prices, the Garden Cafe has earned a reputation in its own right as a destination for good food, where local produce is used wherever possible. A range of coffees, teas and cakes will fuel you through the morning, while sandwiches, paninis, salads and platters provide a tempting lunch for everyone, and younger visitors will enjoy our children’s lunch-boxes. If the weather is unfavourable, order a steaming bowl of soup. If sunny, what better way to spend an afternoon than indulging in a Devon cream tea and watching the world go by? Watch the steam trains, admire the views of the beautiful countryside and be transported back to the good old days when life was a little less hectic. *Please note: No need to visit the farm to use the cafe. The Hairy Barista

If you’re looking for a unique coffee house, The Hairy Barista offers the perfect spot for indulging in speciality coffees pulled through a customised Conti machine.This vegetarian and vegan cafe also serve a carefully selected menu of homemade sweet and savory vegan specialties as well as a mouthwatering array of gluten & sugar free locally baked Boho cakes. If you fancy more of a wellness kick, ask for a freshly prepared, organic super smoothie served in a reusable glass bottle. Situated in the charming area of The Narrows, choose to eat in and watch the world pass by or grab a take away. They also sell a large variety of coffee beans and accessories.

Almond Thief

A craft bakery based in Dartington with a pop-up bakery in South Street in Totnes, making freshly baked sourdough bread, delicious pastries and coffee. Currently, the pop-up bakery in Totnes is open on Tuesdays and Fridays but please check for current opening times.

Café Cloudywaaa

A weekly pop up at the Old Bakehouse on South Street every Saturday between 10am-2pm.

We will be selling a selection of our Japanese sweets alongside loose leaf tea - we will also be giving our customers the ability to custom order and collect on Saturdays! This is launching, this Saturday the 6th March. We also have a monthly pop up at Taguchi-Ya on the last Sunday of every month. Every month we will create an afternoon tea expressing the tastes, textures and sights of each micro season, using celebrated Japanese sweet making techniques and ingredients.
