The Cott Inn

The Cott Inn is a stunning 14th-century thatched pub situated in the peaceful village of Dartington, less than 2 miles from Totnes and surrounded by beautiful countryside. This family owned inn serves award winning food and local ales and ciders, and offers overnight accommodation in luxury boutique bedrooms.

Come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with cosy log fires during the winter months and a large pretty garden with a new alfresco kitchen serving delicious food throughout the summer. Weekly events include the famous fish and chip night on Tuesday evenings serving fresh locally line-caught fish, fabulous Sunday roasts  and live music every Wednesday and Sunday night.  Dogs and children welcome.

Garden Cafe at Totnes Rare Breeds Farm

Just a 15 minute walk from Totnes town centre is the scenic Garden Cafe at Totnes Rare Breeds, perfect for those looking for a short riverside walk followed by a delicious refreshment. Located next to South Devon Railway, it can also be combined with a trip on an historic steam train to Buckfastleigh. Offering made-to-order dishes at reasonable prices, the Garden Cafe has earned a reputation in its own right as a destination for good food, where local produce is used wherever possible.  We respectfully ask that picnics are not eaten on site as the limited seating is reserved for café customers only. You must have a table before ordering food, unless it is to take away. Thank you. A range of coffees, teas and cakes will fuel you through the morning, while sandwiches, paninis, salads and platters provide a tempting lunch for everyone, and younger visitors will enjoy our children’s lunch-boxes. If the weather is unfavourable, order a steaming bowl of soup. If sunny, what better way to spend an afternoon than indulging in a Devon cream tea and watching the world go by? Watch the steam trains, admire the views of the beautiful countryside and be transported back to the good old days when life was a little less hectic. *Please note: No need to visit the farm to use the cafe. Cafe may close early during quiet times or bad weather and cannot be reached by car. Open from March - end October.
