The Sharpham Trust

At the heart of the Sharpham Trust ethos is our desire to build a more mindful, compassionate and environmentally-sustainable world. So we connect people with nature and foster mindfulness and well-being through our programme of retreats, courses, nature events - and the rewilding of our estate, just outside Totnes. www.sharphamtrust.org/whatson   The Estate is also home to the beautiful hideaway holiday let, The Bathing House. Sharpham House is only open to the public on certain days (see our events listing here). You can walk or ride to Sharpham from Totnes, taking the National Cycle Route 28 towards Ashprington. The Sharpham Trust, a registered charity administering the Estate, also operates Sharpham Meadow Natural Burial Ground. You can get married in Sharpham House too, as various rooms and spaces are licensed for weddings. The Sharpham Trust is LGBTQ+ friendly. The Trust also runs a riverside campsite at Point Field which is best accessed via canoe. If you’re interested in volunteering weekly on the Sharpham Estate, read more here or email [email protected]   Google map for The Sharpham Trust: https://goo.gl/maps/qdAee8PQEFo   Google map for Sharpham Meadow Natural Burial Ground: https://goo.gl/maps/SNCpumtuHjr

Bob the Bus

Bright yellow BOB buses are as familiar to Totnes as the East Gate Arch and here’s a few tips on using them to get around the town: BOB is ‘Hail and Ride’ which means you can flag one down anywhere it is safe to do so. In the main street this means anywhere so why not give it a try. There’s a BOB going up the main street every 15 minutes for most of the day and the best place to catch BOB is in the main high street. The ‘Round Town’ adult fare is only 50p or free for bus pass holders BOB is for everyone - any age, local or visitor - for a ride up the hill or to one of the neighbouring villages (on certain days) BOB has accessible ramp access therefore shopping trolleys, luggage, wheelchairs, buggies and even class 2 mobility scooters are welcome on board. Three out of four services every hour go to the Totnes Railway Station. Pick up a timetable from any BOB bus, at the Visit Totnes Information Centre April-October, at Totnes Library or the Seven Stars Hotel.
