Overview

‘One of the finest gardens of its kind in the South West’ (Good Gardens Guide), Lukesland is a hidden gem.

This 24-acre family-run garden has an impressive collection of flowering shrubs and rare trees, planted by a Dartmoor stream in a peaceful woodland valley, but still easily accessible from the A38. Wonderful spring and autumn colour.

Tea room serving home-made soup and cakes. Children’s trail. Dogs welcome on a lead.

Spring openings: Sunday, Wednesday and Bank Hols 11am – 5pm from 22nd March – 10th June. Autumn: Sunday and Wednesday 11th October – 15th November.

VE Bank Holiday opening on 8th May in aid of the British Red Cross, to celebrate its 150th birthday. Normal entry applies.

The Shops at Dartington

The Shops at Dartington, set within the grounds of the Dartington Estate, is rich with history and remains as popular now as it has ever been. It exhibits fine art by renowned local and national artists, such as Sarah Bowman and Breon O’Casey. A small, but beautifully formed gallery, White Space exhibits an excellent selection of paintings, prints, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics. Mostly southwest artists, but not exclusively. White Space Art also exhibits at several art fairs.
