Overview

Totnes, Berry Pomeroy and Dartmouth Castle all plan to re-open in early August, entry by pre-booked tickets purchased online.  Tickets go on sale in early July.

Totnes Castle
Is a focal point of Totnes and stands as a mighty legacy to the power of the Normans. It is one of the best surviving examples of an early Norman motte and bailey castle.

Berry Pomeroy Castle
Tucked away in a deep wooded valley, and reputed to be one of the most haunted castles in England.

Dartmouth Castle
Discover the castle’s colourful history including how it was besieged during the Civil War.

Town Market

The independent shops and markets in Totnes are pivotal to the town and have a reputation as some of the best and most unusual in Devon. The general market takes place on Friday and Saturday throughout the year and is held on the Civic Square, just off High Street in the centre of the town. Here you can buy anything from vintage boxes to fresh fish from a fishmonger. Every fourth Friday of the month there is a new indoor market at the Civic Hall, Totnes with a collection of interesting and exciting stalls selling a variety of handmade products. Shelter from the elements and find delicious food to take away, arts & crafts, special gifts and much more. Open to visitors from 9 am – 4 pm. One of the best places to try the delicious delights of what Totnes and the surrounding area has to offer is at the Totnes Good Food Sunday Market. Held on the 3rd Sunday of each month throughout the year, this award winning market has a reputation for offering a wide range of quality produce from dozens of local producers.
