Overview

White Space Art is the longest established gallery on the Fore Street in the historic market town of Totnes . It exhibits fine art by renowned local and national artists, such as Sarah Bowman and Breon O’Casey.

A small, but beautifully formed gallery, White Space exhibits an excellent selection of paintings, prints, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics. Mostly southwest artists, but not exclusively. White Space Art also exhibits at several art fairs.

Steve Robinson Glass

Winner of the Gold Prize for Glass in the ‘craft&design’ magazine awards, Steve Robinson is an established fused glass artist and designer whose work is instantly recognisable and collected world-wide. A pioneer in the use of glass enamels, Steve has developed specialist techniques to create pieces bursting with texture and colour. He is particularly well known for his unique glass splashbacks, made to measure. Browse in Steve’s vibrant Gallery which displays a collection of his latest pieces, from bowls and small collectable and gift pieces through to wall hangings and larger-scale features. Seascapes and coastal colours inspire much of Steve’s unique work. Commissions are also undertaken. Opening times are Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm all year round. Learn the wonderful art of glass fusing. Take home a unique souvenir to remember your visit by. Award winning artist, Steve Robinson, shares his tricks of the trade in a workshop designed for all abilities – no experience required. Evening taster classes and full day workshops. Expert tuition and all materials provided. Book online or by phone in advance. Workshops are held in Steve’s spacious and fully equipped Studio in Ashprington, just a few minutes from Totnes.

Conker Shoes

Conker is a small family-run business with a team of friendly shoe fitters and of course, our highly-skilled shoe makers. Combining leather and rubber soles of high quality we use traditional techniques to make our shoes for men, women and children. Our workshop is located behind our High Street shop and when you visit us you are welcome to look around. Our shoes can be made to order in around 50 different colours so you can be as creative or as classic as you want. We also have a large range of shoes available to buy off the shelf, if you simply can't wait! Our shoes can also be resoled and repaired meaning you get more out of your shoes and lessen your environmental impact. We also specialise in beautiful fair trade, natural fibre clothing from the likes of People Tree, Beaumont Organic, Monkee Genes, Skunk Funk and Earth Kind Originals .We stock a very wide range of tights from European companies Cecilia De Rafael and Falke. Plus beautiful socks, made in England by Pantherella and Scott Nichol. Alongside our leather shoes we have a variety of exquisite handmade leather bags from The Last Bags Company which are beautifully handmade in Devon with English leather and copper rivets, 100% leather belts with solid brass/silver buckles and bags made by us. As one would expect we also stock a very comprehensive range of quality shoe care products to keep your Conker Shoes looking their best.
