Overview

White Space Art is the longest established gallery on the Fore Street in the historic market town of Totnes . It exhibits fine art by renowned local and national artists, such as Sarah Bowman and Breon O’Casey.

A small, but beautifully formed gallery, White Space exhibits an excellent selection of paintings, prints, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics. Mostly southwest artists, but not exclusively. White Space Art also exhibits at several art fairs.

Conker Shoes

Conker is a small family-run business with a team of friendly shoe fitters and of course, our highly-skilled shoe makers. Combining leather and rubber soles of high quality we use traditional techniques to make our shoes for men, women and children. Our workshop is located behind our High Street shop and when you visit us you are welcome to look around. Our shoes can be made to order in around 50 different colours so you can be as creative or as classic as you want. Alongside our leather shoes we have a variety of exquisite handmade leather bags from The Last Bags Company which are beautifully handmade in Devon with English leather and copper rivets, 100% leather belts with solid brass/silver buckles and bags made by us. As one would expect we also stock a very comprehensive range of quality shoe care products to keep your Conker Shoes looking their best. Town Market

The independent shops and markets in Totnes are pivotal to the town and have a reputation as some of the best and most unusual in Devon. The general market takes place on Friday and Saturday throughout the year and is held on the Civic Square, just off High Street in the centre of the town. Here you can buy anything from vintage boxes to fresh fi sh from a fishmonger. A collectables and flea market also takes place in the Civic Hall, above the Square, on Fridays. The early bird bags the best market bargains! Seed, food and clothes ‘swap’ events can also take place. One of the best places to try the delicious delights of what Totnes and the surrounding area has to offer is at the Totnes Good Food Sunday Market. Held on the 3rd Sunday of each month throughout the year, this award winning market has a reputation for offering a wide range of quality produce from dozens of local producers.
