Totnes Market

The Market Square has been home to the bustling weekly markets for hundreds of years, and today you can still stumble across this gem of a shopping experience every Friday and Saturday 9-4pm. There's also a Sunday Food and Craft Market, held in the Market Square every third Sunday of the month from 10am to 3pm. Meet the friendly traders, soak up the colourful sights and discover a huge array of interesting items from local honey to delicious cake; clothes, plants, antiques and lots of other wonderful gifts and treats.   For more information on market dates and timings, please contact [email protected]

Other markets in Totnes

From April to October, you'll find the Totnes Indoor Artisan Market 9.30am-3pm in the Civic Hall (up the slope next to the Market Square).  And from May to September, step back in time with the Totnes Elizabethan Society, which holds a weekly charity market on Tuesdays with stallholders dressed in Tudor costume.

Reynard the Fox

A family theatre show with The Fabularium The tale of Reynard the Fox follows the woodland’s most infamous scoundrel who prides himself on being the trickster of the forest. But when the Woodland Court announces the theft of the King’s Crown Jewels, the animal kingdom immediately blames the fox. Reynard must do everything he can to prove his innocence and avoid certain death, as well as maintaining his devious persona. Easter Heritage Spectacular

Hop on down to the South Devon Railway this Easter where you can enjoy steam and diesel trains all day and vintage road vehicles too – plus an Easter Egg I-Spy children’s competition. Young passengers will be able to collect an activity sheet from the Booking Office so they can note down the locations of Easter Eggs that have been scattered around the railway. Completed sheets can be left at any of our stations to be in with the chance of winning family tickets for a return visit. We have over £500 of tickets to give away. Devon Vintage Car Club will be dropping by with a display of vintage and classic road vehicles. Take a trip down memory lane and enjoy ‘pre-war’ to ‘modern classics’ being shown by devoted enthusiasts. Please note that these cars are the owners pride and joy so the display may be limited if the weather is bad! We’ll be operating a busy railway timetable with steam and diesel trains, including our popular Bubblecar and Auto Train. A varied timetable offers the chance to explore the railway throughout the day. Why not use our Ranger tickets so you can hop-on and hop-off as you wish? Alternatively, our Return ticket options will still provide a great day out! Some of our trains operate a Buffet Car, serving hot and cold snacks, drinks and cream teas. Our standard fares remain in place for the Easter Weekend and more details of these can be found here.
