Totnes Raft Race

The Totnes Raft Race, known as ‘The River Dart Struggle ‘ takes place along the river Dart starting at Dart Bridge, Buckfastleigh, and on through a mixture of white water, fast-flowing weirs and calm stretches, and makes its way down to the finish in Totnes, a distance of some 13 Kilometres. This is acknowledged as one of the great river challenges and  is an ideal corporate or group team-building exercise, Each team must make its own raft out of a restricted list of approved materials. Crews between 2 to 10 people per raft, all-male, all-female or mixed, over the age of 18, can take part in an exciting struggle to the finish.

Our wonderful Totnes Market reopens! You'll find this vibrant market at the top of town in the market square, every Friday and Saturday. Find a great eclectic mix of items on offer as well as lots of great local produce, and yummy takeaway food. Please socially distance.

Mothecombe Gardens – Open Tuesdays

Mothecombe House are opening their private gardens every Tuesday. Open from 10am – 4pm. Parking and contactless payment is at the Mothecombe Beach Car Park PL8 1LB Adults: £6 (£3 with a valid car parking ticket) Children 17 yrs – 5 yrs: £3 Infants 4yrs and under: Free To access the gardens, walk through Mothecombe village and enter through the stable doors as signposted. There is no access to the beach through the gardens. Mothecombe House and gardens are situated above Mothecombe beach, at the mouth of the Erme estuary on the Flete Estate. They are tucked under one side of a valley running down to the beach, so they are several degrees warmer than the village of Holbeton, two miles inland, and they are sheltered from the prevailing south-westerly salt-laden winds, allowing tender plants to flourish.
