Lucky 7 Cabaret

Event Date:

22nd November

Overview

Roll up! Roll up! The Lucky 7 Club is coming to Dartington this November for a night of burlesque and cabaret.

It’s a heck of a show with classic vintage styling, old school dance moves, serious costuming, glitter and glam and thrills and spills. Carefully curated artists and performers are performing exclusively for this show in Devon, and you can expect a devil-may-care attitude and a rip-roaring, high-jinxing feast for all the senses!

With a soundtrack mixing up a vintage bag of music including rockin’ garage, surf, soul, blues, mambo, rock ‘n’ roll, funk, retro sleaze, electro swing, disco and cool cheese, the joint will be jumping so book early to get a table and tickets.

Dartington at Christmas

Make it a Christmas to remember at Dartington Hall this year. Join us for a 2 or 3 night stay and enjoy the warmth and charm of the Medieval Hall and the splendour of prehistoric Kent's Cavern. On Christmas Eve enjoy 'Carols in the Caves', a candlelit tour and mulled wine with mince pies at the prehistoric Kent's Cavern before heading back to Dartington Hall for a delicious roast buffet in the Medieval Feasting Hall at the White Hart. Enjoy a festive breakfast at your leisure on Christmas Day, a 5 course festive lunch and light evening buffet in the Great Hall, and test your mettle with the White Hart Quiz, explore the wonderful Grade II listed gardens or why not relax with some board games in one of our lounges. On Boxing Day you will have another relaxing breakfast before a fond farewell - unless you're extending your stay for a third night.

Together Without You – Exhibition

Harbour House in Kingsbridge is the venue for an exhibition of drawings by Cary Lee. Together Without You opens at the south Devon gallery on Tuesday 19 November. There will be an evening opening view on Friday 22 November from 6 – 8 pm. Cary says, “Grief framed me, so the wreath became the frame. Together Without You presents a collection of pencil drawings which conflate the existence of isolation and connection, of grief and love; of feeling broken, and of being whole.” An Australian artist who settled in Devon in 2014, Cary studied Visual Arts in both Australia and America before developing a career in the mental health sector. He later moved to Granada in Spain and embraced his art through looking, seeing, recording and drawing. Cary has exhibited in Australia, in Perth and Sydney, and more recently in London. This is his first exhibition in Devon. Together Without You opens at Harbour House on Tuesday 19 November. Opening times will be 10 am – 5 pm daily until the close of the show on Sunday 24 November. Everybody is welcome to the evening gallery viewing on Friday 22 November from 6 – 8 pm. Admission is free.
