Get into the festive spirit with this wonderful festive day. Stalls are open all day along Fore Street selling Christmas treats, gifts and cards. A hog roast will be cooking and carol singers will entertain plus a visit from Santa.

SHAF – South Hams Arts Trail

As diverse as the artistic talents of SHAF members are the ways in which SHAF artists work and where they choose to exhibit their work. Some artists work on their kitchen tables, others in purpose-built studios; some work alone, others in an artists’ collective. So visitors to SHAF Arts Trail venues will find some artists exhibiting in their homes and studios, others in galleries, exhibition halls, and even pubs! Following the Arts Trail also provides a wonderful opportunity to explore the glorious South Hams and discover places (including cream tea venues) you never knew existed.

A feast of Chamber Music for two violins and piano

Jonathan Storer & Johanna McWeeney - violins, Mariko Asakawa-North - piano. The programme will feature works from the rich repertoire for two violins and piano: Serenade op. 92 for two violins and piano – Christian Sinding Five Pieces for two violins and piano – Dmitri Shostakovich Sonatina – Bohuslav Martinu Suite Op. 71 for two violins and piano – Maurice Moszkowski We are delighted to welcome violinist Jonathan Storer to the ensemble for this project! Concert starts at 3pm, tickets available on the door £10 or £7 concession (Student/oap/dss/under 16)

Family Forage Days at Sharpham Estate

Come and enjoy the wild abundance of the Sharpham Estate with your children. We will discover what the season has to offer and pick some wild plants to take back to our sheltered outdoor kitchen for a fun cook up. We’ll talk about which ones we can eat and will take the ones we need back to the woodland kitchen for a cook-up and simple wild food lunch. We will learn a little about fire and get the woodland fire lit where we can then relax in the warmth with herby bread and a warm drink and final questions. This day is for you if you are: adults and children of any age and experience who are looking to discover more about wild edible plants. interested in learning more about the natural world a beginner to foraging a fan of the Great Outdoors looking for a fascinating, family day out What should you bring? Snack - our lunch will be a late one and the foraging walk is a long one, so bring a healthy snack if you get peckish along the way Hat and warm clothes Waterproofs Good comfy shoes or wellies Paper and pen if you want to take notes Camera if you want to take pictures Bottle of water A basket for foraging, if you have one This event runs from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm, costs £5 per person and includes lunch.
