Barn Dance

On Friday 18th October Ambios is holding the return of the annual Barn Raising, Barn Storming Barn Dance at Lower Sharpham Farm from 7 pm til late. This will be a fundraising event run by Ambios Ltd and United Response to help raise money for a new workshop on the farm. There will be live music from fantastic local ceilidh band "Banned from the Moor" and a cash only bar run by the brilliant Copper Stallion. It will be a truly wide ranging community event and all ages are welcome. Tickets will be £15 for adults (which includes a burger) and under 10s go free. More information can be found online.

The Totnes Caring Bazaar and Coffee Morning

Drop-in anytime 9am to 12 noon. Free entry. Good quality clothes, bric-a-brac and books. Home-madecakes and savouries to take away. Tea or coffee and a piece of home-made cake just £1. All proceeds to Totnes Caring.

Forage & Feast at Sharpham Estate

Spend a day in the breathtaking grounds of Sharpham Estate with Brigit-Anna McNeill, learning to identify, pick safely and prepare seasonal wild foods. Re-connect to nature through plants and see with new eyes as you taste, touch and begin to understand the edible and medicinal plants that are all around you. This event costs £45 per person and is suitable for adults aged 16 or over. Price includes a foraged lunch. Spooky Castle – Dartmouth Castle

A feast of frightening fun awaits at Dartmouth Castle this half term. Gather your little monsters for a ghoulishly good day-out, with wicked crafts and a spooktacular Halloween quest around the castle.  Tickets will be available to purchase at the event site on the day.  Time 11am - 4pm

Improviso

Four accomplished musicians (and former Royal College of Music students) present music from the 17th and 18th centuries, including works by Vivaldi, Handel and C.P.E. Bach, alongside improvising in styles from the same period.
Since forming in 2017, Improviso have appeared at the Wigmore Hall, Aldeburgh and the Brighton Early Music Festival. They are currently supported by the EEE project (Emerging European Ensembles) within the Creative Europe programme, and have been Brighton Early Music Festival Young Artists.

Guided Totnes Town Walk

Every Thursday from April to the end of October, meet local guide Kathy Alexander at 10.30 am at the Tourist Information Office, Market Square. Learn about the history of the town in an informal and friendly walk. £5 per person, £3 under 16's.

Civic Hall Market

Every fourth Friday of the month there will be a new indoor market at the Civic Hall, Totnes with a collection of interesting and exciting stalls selling a variety of handmade products. Shelter from the elements and find delicious food to take away, arts & crafts, special gifts and much more. Open to visitors from 9 am - 4 pm. (Exhibitors set up from 8 am).
