Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments: The Longest Night

Award-winning Norwegian Hardanger fiddle player and singer, Benedicte Maurseth, SSAI’s director, Clare Salaman and harpist Jean Kelly, play hardanger fiddles, Swedish nyckelharpa, and clarsach (celtic harp). Their collaboration has resulted in a enchanting repertoire of songs, dances and instrumental pieces from Purcell and Playford to traditional Norwegian Hardanger fiddle tunes and ancient songs.

Dartington at Christmas

Make it a Christmas to remember at Dartington Hall this year. Join us for a 2 or 3 night stay and enjoy the warmth and charm of the Medieval Hall and the splendour of prehistoric Kent's Cavern. On Christmas Eve enjoy 'Carols in the Caves', a candlelit tour and mulled wine with mince pies at the prehistoric Kent's Cavern before heading back to Dartington Hall for a delicious roast buffet in the Medieval Feasting Hall at the White Hart. Enjoy a festive breakfast at your leisure on Christmas Day, a 5 course festive lunch and light evening buffet in the Great Hall, and test your mettle with the White Hart Quiz, explore the wonderful Grade II listed gardens or why not relax with some board games in one of our lounges. On Boxing Day you will have another relaxing breakfast before a fond farewell - unless you're extending your stay for a third night.
