Car Park Party

Fear not…we are bringing a safe, socially distanced entertainment solution to Powderham Castle. Theatre, Karaoke, Comedy - we have it all covered! Car Park Party is bringing an American Drive-in experience to Powderham. With a fresh new concept, we will be taking the UK by storm and integrating you back into your community this Summer! This packed weekend will offer Car Park Comedy (from the Comedy Store), Car Park Karaoke (with the Massaoke band) and Car Park Theatre (by Horrible Histories) – where you will remain safely cocooned in the comfort and security of your own car the whole time. This means that even in these unusual times you can still laugh out loud at a stand-up gig, belt out karaoke tracks or get swept up in a theatrical production with your family and friends - all from the comfort of your own car. Car Park Party is providing some much-needed escapism for live entertainment lovers - while keeping you cocooned in the security of your vehicle the whole time. Tickets are available now from just £30 per car!

Sharpham Retreats at Home

In a short space of time Covid-19 has profoundly affected our lives. This 1-day Retreat at Home can help support and nourish you as you face new challenges and uncertainties. This mindfulness retreat offers support from experienced meditators via The Barn Retreat centre. There will be a maximum of 15 people on this retreat with opportunities for smaller group sharing. You'll be encouraged to bring mindfulness to your home life in mindful activity breaks throughout the day as a way to support your continued practice. The retreat will take place online using the platform Zoom (see further information below to ensure you have the minimum tech requirements).

Train of Lights

The Christmas Train of Lights is now the must-see event in the South West festive calendar and of course it will still capture the magic of our previous shows. Don't forget, the show can only be viewed from the train as you travel the line from Paignton to Kingswear. Your festive illuminated journey starts at Queen's Park Station, Paignton, where our train with vintage carriages await you - decorated with thousands of lights, both inside and out. Fifteen minutes later, once you've had time to settle back into your seat, you will arrive at Churston Station where the show begins. After leaving Churston you will be propelled through the 450-metre Greenway tunnel that leads you to the enchanted forest which will be transformed by a multitude of lights and brand new feature displays. The stunning show ends as you leave the forest only to be greeted by the twinkling lights of Dartmouth reflected on the river Dart. After a turnaround at Kingswear and with the opportunity to disembark and take photographs from the platform, you will be on your way back to Paignton to experience the spectacle from a different direction.  For full terms and conditions please visit the Train of Lights website.  Please ensure you arrive at our Paignton station at least 30 minutes before your Train of Lights departure time. The Head of Steam café will be open serving tea, coffee, (fabulous!) hot chocolate and snacks. Toilets are available at the station and on the train. The experience lasts for c.80 minutes. Tickets are usually non-refundable however should we be unable to operate the service you will of course receive a refund of the full ticket price. Any passengers who are unable to attend due to a national or local lockdown will also receive a refund of the full ticket price. Please be aware there is no Santa on the Train of Lights.
