Camp Dartington

Family-friendly site on the grounds of the spectacular and sprawling Dartington Estate, five minutes’ drive from the market town of Totnes (we are the closest tent campsite to Totnes). Footpaths will take you through 1,200 acres of conservation land where you can find otters, kingfishers and many other delights of the natural world.

We welcome off-ground barbeques but if you’re in the mood for something else we serve delicious food at The Green Table Café or The White Hart pub. Our new glamping pods are the perfect way to ‘camp without camping’ – a little pocket of warmth and comfort with electricity and a heater. With toilets and hot showers on site, it is the perfect environment for a quiet peaceful break for all the family.

The estate is also home to a range of activities, including arts & crafts courses, live music, theatre for all ages and a 14th-century converted barn cinema showing current movies and arthouse films. The estate’s listed gardens are pleasant to saunter around, with plenty of routes to choose from. A 10-minute stroll will lead you to The Cider Press Centre, a collection of stores selling glassware, jewellery, crafts and local delicacies – as well as the Devon Gin School. Camping at Sharpham

The site available for camping at Sharpham is Point Field, (Ashprington Point), with room to pitch up to 10-12 small tents for groups.  It is open for bookings to stay from April - September 2022. There is a slight slope on which you can pitch more tents (although be aware that close to the water's edge may be prone to flooding - check the tides before pitching there). Facilities are limited and the site is suited to people who like their camping on the wilder side. There is however running water and two compost toilets and an option to have a fire. Please note that access to the site by vehicles is not straightforward. The lane to the campsite is not a surfaced road, but should be accessible by car when dry and with care and at your own risk. The site borders the River Dart and is great for a stopover while on a canoeing trip.
